Eco Communities - Full Circle Refill and Save
Eco Communities is a Community Interest Company based in Chester that promotes sustainability, reducing single use plastic and helps people reduce their carbon footprint. They work with individuals, companies and communities.
They have set up 'Full Circle' a Refill and Save scheme using the Fill Refill Co products assessed as the best by Ethical consumer.
Find out more about it on their website HERE
Christine Webber from CAF has joined this scheme and is very pleased with the hair and body products, all purpose cleaning liquid and the washing up liquid. “We just need to find a place for a ‘Hub’ in Frodsham where we can refill, to save going to Hoole.” she says.
“I missed filling up at Just Footprints when the shop was in Frodsham and so was pleased to hear Eco Communities had started offering this service. I had a refill of my washing up liquid bottle and have started using the shampoo, conditioner and body wash, It makes a nice change from the bars I was using, though we still also use soap bars to take swimming etc."

Rentu
Sean and Molly Gilchrist have devised an app ‘Rentu’ to enable you to loan out household items to other people.
“Myself and Molly created Rentu with the aim of reducing household waste and the purchase of items that people will use once and then leave to collect dust.” Sean told us and explains more below.
Sean explains “Anybody can sign up and list things they have lying around the house easily on our mobile app/website, they can earn money from stuff that is otherwise lying around while helping someone locally save money from buying the item brand new. We like to think of it as a way to incentivise sustainability. Our mission is to reduce waste and if people can earn a small income off the side of that, they will hopefully be more motivated to do so. The idea seems to have kind of snowballed a little bit and has had great pickup across Cheshire.”
